DVR - Digital Video Recorder

A DVR or digital video recorder performs nearly the same as a VCR, with the exception of it uses a hard drive to record, instead of videotapes. Because of this there won't be any tapes to cue, and there is more recording time available. Like modern VCRs, users of digital video recorders can record footage simply by entering information such as time, and date into a recording menu. It's main advantage is that it can record for much longer periods without the need to change tapes. The technology also means it is possible to review footage immediately while continuing to record.
